Can anyone please tell how to take the Report or angle or direction of the Resultant force from the final Form finding.

It will be helpful for the further design process of the steel connected to the membrane....

Hi!
I am trying to work with membranes as well. I already tried the four point tent (tutorial) which worked out finde. When I am workinh on my own model, a five point tent consruction, I get the same error as taraaa. "N° of dofs > maxdofs.Problem size bigger than allowed." I tried it with the oficial license of the univeryity but it did not work either.
Wich prefereneces or values do I have to change? Help would be great. The construction is part of my bachelor thesis B)
Thank you all in advance!!!!...

yes it was about mesh.. in the very start when you create mesh from surface i gave a higher number to "max. distance, edge of surface" and it worked but at the second time that i tried exactly the same thing , it gave an error again. As you said may be it is because of the trial verison of the plug-in...

Thanks anyway:)...

When I try to do the Tutorials, the same mistake occurs - "..max no of dofs".

For me it seems that this is something like a Using restriction, because it`s just a trial version of the PlugIn.

But what is exactly meant with "max no of dofs" the number of mesh nodes or the size of the whole Mesh, i can`t find anything that explains it.

So, if someone is able to explain on what i`ve to look for, please do ; )...

I always got the error thing because of what i input on the 2 arches template...
I wanna know how to use to form the arches inclined outward... like the one in the Project 04 in the gallery.. but on my preferences, i want the end of each arc nearly close to each other...
If you know pringles, the chips in a cylindrical container.. the form of the chips is what i actually want to have as an output... thanks for whom that will answer this......

Hi Polpat,

as from what we could see from your screen shot you sent by email this error seems to be caused by the application you want to open the dxf file with.

You should still be able to download it and view with a text editor or any other working application that "understands" dxf.

I hope I could answer your question. If not please get back to us.

Cheers,
André...

Hi! Modelling a membrane with a singular high point in the middle is not only difficult with Rhino Membrane, but also difficult in nature itself. Just try to create a high point in a soap film with a sharp needle...
If you really want this kind of support, reduce the number of form finding steps to 1 in order to allow an anisotropic and inhomogeneous stress distribution. If you want a better solution, try to model it with an eye cable.
Regards,
Johannes...
